Research

My research connects applied economics with questions about inclusion, development and sustainability.

Financial inclusion and rural livelihoods

I study microcredit, access to credit, gender dynamics and entrepreneurship, examining how financial services interact with household vulnerability, livelihoods and social networks. This work draws on evidence from rural Vietnam and Thailand.

Technology, firms and environmental innovation

My interests include technology adoption, digital transformation, credit access, corporate governance and firm performance. I also examine the institutional and financial conditions associated with environmental innovation.

Aquaculture sustainability and welfare

I investigate the economic drivers of farmed fish and shrimp welfare, farmer incentives and value-chain behaviour in Vietnamese aquaculture. This research considers the interactions between production practices, sustainability and animal welfare.

Methods

My work uses causal inference, panel data methods, propensity score matching, instrumental variables, network analysis, machine learning and text analytics. I use Stata, Python, R and SQL to develop reproducible analytical workflows.
